Good news, the Skype for Business Mac client is now generally available!
- For the best Mac client experiences and an always up-to-date infrastructure, we recommend all customers migrate to Office 365. Skype for Business Server 2015 customers should at a minimum download and install the Skype for Business Server 2015 Cumulative Update version 9319.272 or higher.
- Download and install. If don't already have Skype for Business installed, see: Install Skype for Business on Mac. Install Skype for Business on a mobile device. Sign in to Skype for Business. Enter your work or school account. Select Continue. If your organization provides instructions, follow the prompts on the screen.
It’s been a long time waiting, but Microsoft has hit their October 2016 deadline.

Kindly try to clearing Skype for Business Cache for Mac. Log out of and quit Skype for Business. Press Command+Shift+G or click Go Go to Folder. Type /library and press Return. From the Download Center, go to the download page where you can download Skype for Business Mac. Click the Download button and allow the package file to download safely to your computer. Once the file has finished downloading, double-click on it in order to launch the Skype for Business Installer so you can begin the installation process.

Lync Server 2010 is not supported – instead, we recommend customers continue to use the Lync for Mac 2011 client.
